Alchema is an integrated countertop device that makes home beverage fermenting more foolproof, more precise and less messy. It also gives the user the ability to fine-tune infinite flavor combinations to satisfy personal tastes.
The compact Alchema appliance has a similar footprint to popular coffee makers (40 cm x 25 cm) and makes each batch of hard cider in a 2.4-liter pitcher made with Tritan™ from Eastman.
Tritan is a BPA-free polymer that gives the pitcher glasslike clarity and excellent durability. It is chemical and alcohol resistant and also resists stains and odors. So, today’s hard cider won’t have residual tastes from your last batch. Tritan also can withstand repeated cycles in the dishwasher, so it encourages proper hygiene and safety.
Safety is a key criterion for the Alchema hard cider brewer. The system is designed with a built-in air pressure sensor, temperature sensor and release valve, as well as a simple method for checking alcohol content. The system also includes a weight sensor for precise ingredient measurement and an innovative UV-C sanitizing function that guards against contamination without the hassles usually required for sanitizing brewing components.
Alchema links to your smartphone to allow monitoring of the fermentation process or for accessing hundreds of recipes and sharing success stories with the Alchema online community. Best of all, the app notifies you when your creation is complete and ready for tasting — usually less than 2 weeks for hard cider, 1 week for mead or 16 weeks for home-fermented wine.
