Enlarging to meet the growing demand

Enlarging to meet the growing demand

News 10.05.2018

At the Chinaplas 2018, WINTEC, an ENGEL Group company, presented itself in a good mood. In the past twelve months, the injection moulding machine manufacturer based in Changzhou, China, was able to further increase its incoming orders and gain numerous new clients in Asia. Until now, WINTEC sales have been focused on the Asian markets, but as of May 2018, the company is expanding sales into selected American markets.

In order to meet the growing demand, WINTEC is enlarging its production plant in Changzhou, China. "The production area will be more than doubled, and by the end of 2019 the number of employees in production alone will increase by 60 percent", reports Michael Feltes, President Sales and Service of WINTEC, at the beginning of the Chinaplas plastics trade fair, end of April in Shanghai, China. Construction work is expected to commence in the autumn of this year. The plan is to already use the additional area by the fourth quarter of the coming year. Altogether, WINTEC is investing more than 10 million euro into the first big expansion of the site since the company was established four years ago.

WINTEC expanding sales to America
Since 2014, WINTEC has been building high-quality, reliable and long-lasting injection moulding machines for standard applications. Initially, the machines were only available in Asia, however, in the past years further markets in the Middle East as well as South Africa have been added. In May of this year, WINTEC is expanding its sales to the US, Canadian, Mexican and Brazilian markets. "Moving into America is a huge step for our entire team", says Feltes. "We are very well equipped for it, have already set up a strong sales structure in America and the colleagues there are well-connected to Changzhou." Peter Auinger has taken on sales and service management for the Americas. He has been with WINTEC from the beginning and established sales in China during the initial years.

The all-electric e-win injection moulding machine

From the individual machine to the automated production cell
At the Chinaplas, the injection moulding machine builder is presenting a strong product line-up. The hydraulic injection moulding machines of the twin series – part of the programme from the get-go – have become well established in the Asian markets. Among other applications, they are used in the production of large-scale automotive components and in the white goods industry – in the production of washing machine components, for example.

With the e-win, WINTEC last year expanded its portfolio with an all-electric product line, thus gaining access to additional target industries.

As a member of the ENGEL Group, WINTEC is in a position to deliver automated production cells with robots developed and produced within the group of companies.

European quality, made in China
ENGEL, headquartered in Schwertberg, Austria, has more than 70 years of experience in me-chanical engineering and operates production plants on three continents. The WINTEC plant in Changzhou is integrated into this strong production network. "We are subject to the same strict quality standards as in all worldwide production plants for ENGEL machines and robots", emphasizes Feltes.

In the area of after-sales service, WINTEC customers also benefit from the long-established ENGEL network. "We guarantee our customers rapid on-site service and therefore high availability of our injection moulding machines", says Feltes. "The demands on service continue to increase. To that end, we are continuing to expand our presence in the worldwide markets."
