Smart Molding International 2-2020

16 newsfeed smart_molding international 2/2020 BOY - specialist of injec - tion moulding machines up to 1250 kN clamping force - has modified its largest vertical injection mould - ing machine. At the end of this year the insert mould - ing machine with 600 kN clamping force instead of the previous 550 kN, will be available. “The increased clamping force is initially only avail - able for the BOY 60 EVV with injection unit SP 215 (maximum stroke volume of 166.3 cm3)” explainsMartin Kaiser, Head of Mechanical Design at BOY. In a further step the three smaller in - jection units SP 56, SP 69 and SP 82 will also be read - ily available for this model according to his announce - ment. Overmoulding of in - sert components of differ - ent sizes is easily possible with a total of eight differ - ent screw diameters. Like all BOY insert mould - ing machines, the 4-tie bar BOY 60 E VV scores, partic - ularly with the fixed lower plate, an ergonomically favourable table height of 975 mm and optimal access to the mould from all four sides. Compact dimensions of 3.21 m² and plenty of space on the rear machine frame for peripheral devices and accessory equipment guarantee a wide range of integration options for au - tomation devices. An ener - gy-efficient servo drive and the high-end control Procan ALPHA are standards of the BOY 60 E VV. The energy-ef - ficient plasticizing unit BOY- EconPlast is available as an option starting from a screw diameter of 18 mm. For this reason GEFIT suc - cessfully finalized its first on - line factory acceptance test - ing (FAT). By using cameras and permanent connection, customers have been able to actively participate in the FAT of an index assemblyma - chine, remaining constantly in audio visual contact with GEFIT engineers working at their plant. Customers just had to download an app on their devices and then follow all operations on the machine in real time, being also able to interact directly and ask our technicians for specific interventions. This way it has been pos - sible to monitor the perfor - mances and communicate with GEFIT team in real time, with a complete remote in - teraction and without any impact on the previously agreed time schedules for the machine delivery. A successful experience that will be also extended for the testing of moulds, until the situation gets fi - nally back to normal. And that's not all! Thanks to the use of special smart glasses equipped with wear - able headset, a new frontier will be torn down: GEFIT will be able to provide custom - ers from all over the world with an innovative remote assistance service, complete with audio and video, that makes the operators on site completely free tomove and put the received indications into practice.
