At the Taipei International Plastics & Rubber Industry Show (running from 15 to 19 August 2018) ARBURG is demonstrating the processing of LSR and PIM. The two high-end exhibits are producing articles for smartphones. In addition, the ARBURG host computer system ALS is being presented as a central building block for Industry 4.0.
iPhone covers produced on a hydraulic ALLROUNDER GOLDEN EDITION
A hydraulic ALLROUNDER 420 C GOLDEN EDITION with a clamping force of 1,000 kN produces flexible LSR cases for the iPhone 8. The mould was provided by Prover, while the LSR dosing unit comes from 2KM. A MULTILIFT SELECT linear robotic system performs the handling tasks. The machine from the entry-level GOLDEN EDITION series has been specially adapted to process LSR.
Metal smartphone frames
At the Taipei Plas, the metal smartphone frames with a polishable surface is producing on an electric ALLROUNDER 470 E GOLDEN ELECTRIC. This machine from the electric entry level series is equipped for Metal Injection Moulding (MIM). Due to the thin-walled and stress-free design of the smartphone frame, production is extremely demanding.
