Efficient, flexible and economical – these are the characteristics of injection molding solutions from WITTMANN. And of course this is why a piggy bank has been chosen to demonstrate, how much can be gained by consistently adapting the injection molding machine, automation and auxiliaries to the specific requirements of the application. In processing virgin granulates just as with recycled or nature-based materials.

Smart savings with WITTMANN. By manufacturing piggy banks on an all-electric EcoPrimus injection molding machine WITTMANN will demonstrate at Plastpol 2026 how production efficiency can be combined with cost-effectiveness

At Plastpol 2026 from May 19 to 22 in Kielce, Poland, the production of piggy banks will demonstrate how savings potentials in injection molding can be optimally exploited. At the center of the production cell stands an EcoPrimus 100/525 B8X, which will be presented in Poland for the first time. This new all-electric injection molding machine with 1,000 kN clamping force has been specially developed for single-component compact injection molding in large quantities. For standard applications requiring only a small range of options, the EcoPrimus combines high precision with efficiency and cost-effectiveness. It stands out by its robust and compact design, and in terms of user-friendliness, its easy operation also leaves nothing to be desired. The EcoPrimus is equipped with the latest generation of control systems from the WITTMANN Group.

The piggy bank consists of two half shells produced inside a 1+1 cavity mold. The material processed is an innovative wood-plastic composite granulate (WPC) of the Compositive brand supplied by Pacyga Meble based in Krzeszów, Poland. This presentation at the Plastpol will show how with standard machine technology, combined with the high plasticizing expertise from WITTMANN, the ideal injection molding solution can be developed in each case for a vast range of different materials. From conventional thermoplastics and natural material-based composites right up to PCR.

In order to achieve a consistently high product quality even with fluctuating raw material properties, such as are typical in processing recycled and natural materials, the EcoPrimus exhibited at the Plastpol will be fitted out with intelligent assistance systems from the HiQ product series. These software solutions developed by WITTMANN automatically analyze the current process and can thus adjust parameters precisely before scrap is produced—inline and, in some cases, even within the same cycle. In addition, the HiQ assistance systems simplify the operation of the injection molding machine. This ensures stable processes, even when qualified personnel are not present during every shift.

A W918 linear robot will remove the parts of the piggy bank from the mold and deposit them on the exit belt.

Thanks to their modular design and WITTMANN’s consistent platform strategy, the linear robots from WITTMANN combine high flexibility with cost efficiency

The robot control system which can do more
With their modular design and consistent platform strategy from WITTMANN, the WITTMANN linear robots combine high flexibility with cost efficiency. The extremely wide range of different sizes available provides an efficient automation system for every application. The WITTMANN linear robots will demonstrate their excellent performance at the Plastpol not only as part of the machine exhibition, but also as stand-alone appliances inside a large demo automation cell.

Similar to the range of injection molding machines, the development of the R9 robot control system was also focused on extremely user-friendly operation. Process sequences can be either freely programmed or intuitively compiled via a graphical selection of available options. For easy programming on a PC, the programming interface of the TeachBox can be transferred completely. The R9 includes as standard a force monitoring function for both insertion and removal, as well as automatic ACD collision monitoring. The control system also keeps an eye on the maintenance intervals.

With the ability to integrate up to twelve servo axes as well as numerous analog and digital input and output modules, the R9 can handle even the most complex automation tasks. Another unique feature is that, in integrated work cells, it can provide a central user interface for all peripheral devices via its control room function. The R9 Teachbox runs on Windows, making it easy to connect to other platforms.

Fit for the circular economy
In the exhibition area for auxiliaries, another major emphasis has also been placed on processing recycled materials. The material loaders of the Feedmax Clean series were specifically developed to meet the requirements of the circular economy. Feedmax Clean material loaders reach extremely high extraction rates of up to 80 per cent (for particles <1000 µm) and thus remove considerably more dust grains and fine particles from the granulate than any comparable appliances on the market. This ensures a very high quality consistency in injection molding. Thanks to meticulous dedusting, recyclates can also be used safely for applications with high quality standards, for example in the automobile industry. For direct, efficient in-house regrinding and re-use of production scrap and sprue, WITTMANN offers a wide range of granulators, which will also be presented to trade fair visitors in Kielce.

Tempro basic temperature controllers combine high performance with efficiency, and with their extremely compact design fit into many production cells without taking up any additional floor space

High performance with reduced space requirements
From the product segment of temperature controllers, WITTMANN will highlight at its booth in Kielce temperature controllers of the Tempro basic series. Their outstanding characteristic: high performance and energy efficiency inside an extremely compact housing. With the Tempro basic series, WITTMANN brought a real long-distance runner to market more than 20 years ago, because these appliances combine process stability with extremely easy operation and a low purchase price to this day. These three main features also remain unchanged in the latest generation of Tempro basic temperature controllers. But this new design is significantly more compact. Which means that the temperature controllers can be accommodated more easily underneath an injection molding machine or inside an automation cell without taking up any extra floor space. Their higher energy efficiency is boosted by the new seal-less peripheral wheel pump with a highly efficient asynchronous motor of the latest energy efficiency class. Direct heat transfer from the heating elements to the tempering fluid prevents heat loss. The tubular cooling coil with an enlarged heat transfer area ensures both higher cooling performance and a longer service life for the heat exchanger. In the new generation, the Tempro basic series is also available with non-pressurized indirect cooling for process temperatures of up to 90 °C, a pressurized version for temperatures of up to 140°C, and with pressurized direct cooling for process temperatures of up to 120 °C.

A new feature across the entire product line is a 3.5-inch TFT LCD color display, which further simplifies the operation of the temperature control units. Compared to the previous seven-segment display, it provides a much clearer overview and intuitive menu navigation.
