Conventus Polymers LLC, a leading distributor of high-performance engineering thermoplastics, has announced the opening of a new satellite office and expanded warehouse space in Houston. As part of the expansion plan, the company has also announced the appointment of Jessica Stewart as product manager.
The new satellite office will provide sales and technical support, enabling Conventus to further penetrate the growing oil and gas industry, along with the Southwest region and Mexico, according to John Jorgensen, Conventus Polymers President. “Our business is growing quickly and with our broad product portfolio of specialty engineering plastics, we are firmly positioned as a strategic supplier,” said Jorgensen. “These new moves signal our further commitment to key national and multinational OEMs.”
Conventus sees strong business opportunities in the Southwest and Mexico, particularly in the oil and gas market where there is growing use of engineering plastics as a replacement for traditional materials like steel. “The expansion will play a key role in meeting the application development needs of our customers and further unlock new business opportunities,” said Jorgensen.
The appointment of Stewart as product manager is a critical piece of Conventus’ strategy to further develop its portfolio. Stewart will work with the sales team to maximize the value of the supplier base, according to Jorgensen. Stewart has held multiples roles in the oil and gas industry, most recently as purchasing and inventory manager for Leam Drilling Systems LLC in New Iberia, La. During her 10 years at Leam Drilling, she also served as asset and inventory coordinator and purchasing and inventory coordinator.
Stewart also worked at Hewlett-Packard in several positions including project manager. She holds a bachelor’s of science degree from Sam Houston State University.
