Did you know that cylinder-head gaskets (CCG) are one of the most important components installed in almost every combustion engine? This metal-rubber composite part is inserted between the crankcase and cylinder head and performs the task of sealing the combustion chamber as well as the engine oil and coolant ducts.
And did you know that for many of these high-performance parts, the elastomer seal is sprayed on and vulcanized out by DESMA machines?
As a rule, a DESMA BENCHMARK with 400 or 560 tons clamping force is used for this purpose. Injection molds and cold runners for the production of the ZKD are also manufactured in DESMA’s in-house mold shop. The use of FlowControl cold runners has proven to be particularly successful here, as each individual nozzle is specifically controlled and thus an optimum, very precise injection result without overmolding and waste can be achieved.
