Milliken warmly invites plastic manufacturers, compounders and processors working with polypropylene (PP) to attend the presentations the company will offer at its K 2016 booth under the banner “Making polypropylene clearer, better, faster. Together.”
Milliken’s trademark PP-enhancing nucleators and clarifiers will be given a spotlight this year. The visitors will be able to witness the company’s solution range easily fitting specific application needs. Milliken’s clarifiers and nucleators face the critical performance and sustainability challenges of the modern plastic processing, exemplified by trends towards lightweight high-performance parts, energy-efficient solutions, improved functionality and process optimization.

Namely, Milliken will detail at the forthcoming show the benefits of its Hyperform® HPN and Millad® NX™ 8000 nucleators. The guests will learn the results of relevant case studies under the three smartly coined mottos: “Making PP Clearer,” “Making PP Better,” and “Making PP Faster.”
Millad NX 8000 makes polypropylene UltraClear, but it is not the whole thing: Milliken will uncover how lower processing temperatures enabled by this additive make an increase in processing rate and sustainability possible. This is how Millad NX 8000 allows for material replacement in a wide array of processes. Also on display will be the advantages of Hyperform HPN nucleators, including their outstanding properties balance resulting in improved performance of end products and reduced production flaws. Both additives boast high performance in high melt flow rate PP grades, supporting a growing demand for such grades that enable faster processing across the plastics industry.

Vice President of Plastics Additives of the company, Allen Jacoby, said on the topic that Milliken offers “technical support with a global footprint. This provides producers, compounders and converters with viable opportunities to make innovative, reliable PP improvements that will benefit their customers and the various market segments where PP can add real value.” Jacoby emphasized that joint work will support future innovation in the industry.
However, Milliken’s innovations do not only cover PP: the company will put on display a wide variety of additives for improved PE, PET and PU performance. These products are meant to embrace key trends and face critical challenges in the sector, including ever-evolving ESD standards, reactive coloring, antimicrobial additives, antioxidants, nucleators, and UV absorbers for PET. Milliken strives to improve both processability and performance of films, extruded and injection molded items even more.
