Founded in 1945 by Cosimo Conterno, LATI anticipated the times with a pioneering vision of circular economy: transforming World War II military leftovers into new resources by recycling materials. An innovative insight that marked the beginning of a long history of research, development, and sustainability.
LATI – an acronym for Lavorazioni Articoli Tecnici Industriali – has always been synonymous with excellence in high-performance thermoplastic compounds. Like in cooking, our technicians create unique recipes, combining different ingredients to produce materials with extraordinary properties: self-extinguishing, thermally conductive, reinforced, self-lubricating, and much more. These materials then become an integral part of key components in various strategic sectors, including:
• Electrical and electronics – switches that resist short circuits
• Automotive – components as strong as metal but lighter
• Home appliances – highly performing parts for safety and reliability
Our history goes hand in hand with the history of plastics, first and foremost nylon. We were pioneers in using FEM simulation and introducing glass fibers in polymers, anticipating market developments. Our focus on quality led us to be the first company in Italy to certify UNI EN ISO 9001.
