In September 2016, the new Asian business unit of Arburg that started its intense work in April this year was inaugurated officially. The parent company sent out a highly positioned delegation including Renate Keinath, Arburg's Managing Partner, and Gerhard Böhm, Managing Director Sales, for the special occasion that emphasized the current importance of Taiwan’s high-tech industrial market.
Renate Keinath called the event “an important milestone of the company’s successful development in Taiwan” and gave the well-deserved credit to the Arburg’s former local distributor that laid a strong foundation for the company’s activities in the country: “Over the past 35 years, we have enjoyed excellent representation by C & F International Corp. in this important market. However, Arburg has never been known to rest on its laurels. We always endeavor to offer our customers an even better range of products and services.”
Strategic growth in the Taiwanese market
Taiwan has been recently a consistently innovative market with plenty of high-tech firms. Arburg has set its goal accordingly: not only securing its presence at the national market in the long term thanks to a new subsidiary, but also expanding it cleverly. “In Michael Huang, we have succeeded in recruiting an experienced plastics specialist as subsidiary manager. Moreover, because we have taken on many Sales and Service employees from our former trading partner, the same extensive knowledge and familiar local contacts will continue to be available to our customers in the future,” added Renate Keinath, visibly elated. Renate described the new 550 m2 premises with a showroom spacious enough to accommodate three injection molding machines of Allrounder series.
High-tech, expertise and service at the new subsidiary
Following the official inauguration, the attendees took the opportunity to get a personal impression of the numerous opportunities offered by the new Arburg center. Gerhard Böhm detailed these offerings: “Our subsidiary in Taiwan offers high-end technology, pre- and aftersales service, as well as comprehensive expertise. The showroom is not only a presentation forum for current Arburg machine technology, it is also a central point of contact for customer trials. The well-stocked spare-parts store ensures excellent availability and rapid provision. Four comprehensively trained Service technicians are deployed in Taiwan to ensure rapid support at the local level.”
Future expansion of Arburg’s Taiwanese infrastructure will be aimed at application technology consulting and more extensive service offerings. The renowned company commits itself strongly to keeping customer service and support first-class all over the world, and Taichung is no exception.
Standard and special applications
“We are proud that many specialist high-end companies in Taiwan have already been using Arburg plastics technology for a long time in the fields of medical technology, electronics, powder injection molding (PIM) and LSR processing,” continued Gerhard Böhm, declaring growth plans of his company — not only as a specialist but also in standard applications, i.e. processing of thermoplastics. Böhm is confident that high-end technology and turnkey solutions proposed by Arburg will favor further expansion.
Extended program for the event
A couple of seminars on injection molding trends and developments accompanied the event, including presentations on LSR (liquid silicone) processing. The audience also had the occasion to see a short film on the all-electric machines of the new Allrounder Golden Electric series. Due to consistent standardization, these machines meet user demand for efficient high-performance entry-level equipment.
