Pressca milk frother features Eastman Tritan copolyester

Сase studies

Pressca, the household utility brand based in Santa Catarina, has once again chosen the quality of Eastman Tritan™ copolyester — this time for the innovative Pressca Milk Frother. The launch of this product makes it easy for consumers to create hot- or cold-aired milk froth for use in coffee drinks such as cappuccinos, macchiatos, and mochas as well as shakes and frapes.

Pressca

Available in seven colors, the new Pressca Milk Frother makes perfect hot or cold froth.
1.    Fill the frother jar with milk .
2.    Move the plunger up and down to aerate the milk.
3.    Remove the cap and pour from the easy-to-control spout.

The heart of the Pressca Milk Frother is a clear jar made of Tritan. The 200-mL jar is 9 x 6 cm and houses a plunger that forces milk through plastic webbing to create a consistent, small-bubbled froth. It is available with base and plunger cap in seven lively colors.

"We chose to work with Tritan on the milk frother project because of the copolyester’s durability,” says Ciro Pereira, director of Pressca. “Similar products made from glass are easily broken, and the other plastic resins available on the market did not meet our high standards for glasslike clarity. Moreover, some of Tritan’s other characteristics, like the fact that it is free of BPA and has a great finishing touch, were also important in our material selection."

In addition, the combination of high temperature resistance and chemical resistance makes Tritan a strong choice that is safe to use in both the microwave and the dishwasher.

Confidence reaffirmed
This is not the first collaboration between Eastman and Pressca. Previously, the household utility company used Tritan as the inner cup of its Pressca portable coffee maker, which works by infusion and manual pressure.

"Due to the great temperature variation and the pressure during the preparation process, it was important to have a resistant material,” says Pereira. “Tritan satisfied that need.”

“We are pleased to be part of one more project with Pressca,” says Rogerio Dias, Eastman's sales manager of specialty plastics for Latin America. “Tritan offers safety and design flexibility to a product that needs to go beyond functionality. With Tritan, the elegant Pressca Milk Frother meets the needs of demanding consumers who love coffee and elegant design — without worrying about broken glass.”

The Milk Frother is ideal for coffee drinkers who want to create coffeehouse-style beverages at home. The product can also be found in coffee shops, emporiums, natural products stores and bakeries. It is available for sale via e-commerce.
