With its new site in Ontario, Canada, Hugo Stiehl GmbH Kunststoffverarbeitung (HSK) is expanding its global fleet to nearly 150 injection moulding machines, about 80% of which are from Sumitomo (SHI) Demag. The latest addition includes 10 all-electric IntElect machines - six of which are multi-component machines - producing complex battery components in Germany and Canada.

HSK prioritizes multi-component technology as a core strength, serving the automotive, electronics, healthcare, consumer goods, and cosmetics industries: “It really is our core competence. Making such a significant investment in these latest machines ensures that we have the extra capacity we need to keep ahead of the newest multi-component trends,” says Managing Director Jürgen Burkert. The IntElect series meets these demands with maximum flexibility, large mould space, high tie bar clearance, and precise, dynamic movements. Plus, its all-electric design supports HSK’s commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability.
“There are many factors we appreciate in Sumitomo (SHI) Demag as a partner: excellent support, modular machine concepts boosting investment longevity and flexibility, familiarity with controls, and strong maintenance support—resulting in some of the most efficient cycle times,” adds Ralf Schiefer, Head of Strategic Business and Product Development.
Sumitomo (SHI) Demag is thankful to the HSK team for their trust.
