Prior to his work for the German-Japanese injection moulding machinery manufacturer, Scheibner worked as a key sales executive for investment and industrial goods. “We are delighted that we acquired Dirk Scheibner, a proven expert of the CIS and CEE markets,“ says Gerd Liebig, CEO of Sumitomo (SHI) Demag Group. “Initially, he will focus on tapping into what we consider Eurasia’s vast market potential and on the advancement of our service structures in this region.“
More than 2,000 installed Sumitomo (SHI) Demag machines are currently serviced by staff at the subsidiary’s Moscow headquarters and at service points in Nizhny Novgorod and St. Petersburg. “It is the high reliability of our machines, the pre-emptive maintenance and fast spare parts supply that are rated very highly among Russian customers from growth markets such as packaging, agriculture, automotive, food and construction materials. These benefits are a competitive edge that should not be underestimated,“ Scheibner explains. As early as 1998, Sumitomo (SHI) Demag set up its first production site in Ningbo/China. In 2015, the Chinese subsidiary Demag Plastics Machinery (Ningbo) Co., Ltd. installed a new facility with a 13,000 m? floor space. It is earmarked for the production of the Systec C range with clamping forces of between 500 and 10,000 kN for the Asian market.
