Interesting silicone processing for the German rubber convention
WITTMANN BATTENFELD has been active in LSR processing for many years. In response to the increasing significance of this sector, the company decided for the first time this year to exhibit at the DKT with a booth of its own.
Machine with LSR metering device from Nexus |
An LSR application will be showcased with an all-electric EcoPower 160/130 on this occasion. This machine, equipped with the new, user-friendly UNILOG B8 control system, is an extremely energy-efficient model with a high level of precision and repeatability and ideally suited for liquid silicone processing. The machine will make jigsaw pieces from LSR material supplied by Momentive, Germany, with a mold from Nexus, based in Austria. Nexus will also be present with its own booth. For this application, the machine has been equipped with an LSR metering device from Nexus as well. The injection unit in open configuration permits easy integration of the LSR feeding and metering elements.
The automation system has been developed jointly by Nexus and WITTMANN BATTENFELD. The parts are removed and deposited on a cooling belt by a W832 robot from WITTMANN. They are subsequently packaged in a tubular bag machine and then transferred to a conveyor belt.
