Chinese injection molding machinery maker Borch Intelligent Equipment Co. Ltd. is building a new factory in Guangzhou.
The groundbreaking ceremony was held Jan. 13 in the Zengcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone.
Borch said the project will include a modern factory for heavy machinery as well as a technology center. Dubbed as an "intelligent cloud factory," the plant will integrate R&D, production, quality control and logistics, employ various production management systems, and build a big data center to provide online monitoring, full lifecycle management, precision sales and other cloud services.
Chairman Borch Zhu said the facility will create a perfect fusion of industrial engineering and information engineering through lean manufacturing and information technology tools. It will also aim to be energy-efficient and environment-friendly.
The privately held company did not provide more operational or financial details on the investment.

Borch most recently ranked as the third-largest injection molding machine maker and the seventh-largest plastic machinery maker in China, based on sales.
Borch Machiney Co.,Ltd. (Borch) was established in early 2003 in Guangzhou. Borch has two production and research centres, one each in Guangzhou and Hangzhou. The consolidated factory area of 180000 square meters is fully equipped with modern production facilities including state of art machining centers. These plants can annually produce over 15000 units of injection molding machines.
