Burgsmüller, a subsidiary of the KraussMaffei Group, confirms its strong commitment to Lower Saxony by building a new metalworking plant in Einbeck, not far from its current location in Kreiensen. In mid-April 2019, the company signed a lease agreement with VGP – a leading project developer for commercial real estate – thus kicking off the construction of a factory and office complex with roughly 7,200 m² of floor space. Relocation of Burgsmüller’s production site from Kreiensen to Einbeck is scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2020. The new site with a plot area of approx. 20,000 m2 will offer state-of-the-art production and office spaces for up to 125 employees.

Future-oriented business with strong regional roots
“The move from our original location in Kreiensen to the new production hall in Einbeck is an important milestone in the development of our company,” says Jens Biel, managing director of Burgsmüller GmbH. “In VGP, we have found a reliable partner with a convincing track record of successful projects completed at other locations of the KraussMaffei Group. VGP will develop and tailor the new production site to our specific requirements and individual ideas.”
Burgsmüller’s highly qualified staff, the established network of demand-oriented suppliers, good transport connections and the available high-performance broadband network were of high strategic importance for the decision to build the new production plant in Einbeck.
Dr. Sabine Michalek, mayor of Einbeck, is very pleased about the Burgsmüller project: “For us, VGP is a highly trust-worthy and professional partner who will help us further strengthen our region. We very much appreciate the fact that KraussMaffei subsidiary Burgsmüller is given the opportunity to extend its production capacities here.”
Lower Saxony's Minister of Finance Reinhold Hilbers also welcomes the new production site: “The project has a strong signalling effect and confirms the long-term commitment of the KraussMaffei Group in our region. We are delighted that these high-quality jobs will stay here and look forward to continuing our cooperation with Burgsmüller.”
Most modern production facility in Europe for up to 125 employees
The new location of Burgsmüller GmbH in Einbeck will be the most modern manufacturing site in Europe for up to 125 employees. It will focus on the internationally competitive production of wear parts for plastics processing machinery. The planned production site will be built to the most demanding technical standards based on an energy-efficient concept, offering tailor-made solutions for the long-established company. The new location with enhanced production capacity will strongly influence the political and demographic situation at a regional level and bear a positive overall effect on the development of the city and the surrounding area.
Optimized production to Industry 4.0 standards
Burgsmüller will rigorously align its production facilities in the new plant with Industry 4.0. standards. The Einbeck site will be designed as SmartFactory with consistently networked production and data processing in real time, visualized processes and extensive data analysis. In addition, the production efficiency will be sustainably increased by the use of state-of-the-art machine tools and the lead time for the production of components will be substantially reduced.
