Looking to address a growing need in the Mexican market, global specialty plastics provider Eastman has joined with Gonherrplast to create a new line of drinkware made with Eastman Tritan™ copolyester, a crystal clear and durable polymer that is also BPA-free and shatter resistant.
The Cara-e-piña glasses made with Tritan will offer Mexican consumers a high-end product that has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for food contact applications. It has excellent transparency and resistance to odors and stains. Tritan is shatter resistant, so it's ideal for safe outdoor entertaining and great for use by children. Plus, its resistance to high temperatures and chemicals makes it safe to put in the dishwasher.
"At Gonherrplast we look for a line with the best quality for our customers to satisfy a market niche with a significant gap in Mexico. Because Tritan is durable and safe, Cara-e-piña glasses have a longer useful life, which will give more value for the client's money. This line will remain like new for a longer time, and its aesthetic will not be affected," says Raúl Sergio Gónzalez Villareal, Gonherrplast CEO.
Available in five colors (blue, orange, transparent, green, and purple), Cara-e-piña glasses stand out for their attractive diamond-like surface design and conical shape, making them the ideal drinkware for children and adults. In addition, Cara-e-piña glasses have a 455-mL storage capacity.
"It is encouraging to see how Mexican companies choose to use Tritan for the development of innovations and how the national market will grow. With the Cara-e-piña line, Gonherrplast is bringing products with better quality, safety, and durability to Mexican consumers," says Rogério Dias, specialty plastics sales manager at Eastman for Latin America.
