A Husky Company wins Process Innovation Supplier of the Year award
Husky Injection Molding Systems, a leading industrial technology provider to the plastics processing community, today announced that its medical business has been awarded a prestigious Process Innovation Supplier award from Becton Dickinson, a leading global medical technology company. Schöttli, a Husky Company, supports Becton Dickinson with fulfillment for its global supply programs of highly precise and reliable molds for a variety of medical products, including high-speed, high-precision syringe component molds, and high-volume disposable insulin molds.
Since the acquisition of Schöttli in 2013, Husky has worked together with the Schöttli team to integrate them into the Husky family and dedicate them to providing mold solutions for the medical market. “Receiving this award is a great honor for us. We work diligently to ensure we meet the specific needs of our customers with innovative solutions that both mitigate business risk in their processes and products, and help to ensure product quality that meets the strictest legislation. We are very proud to be recognized by Becton Dickinson for this,” said Johannes Strassner, Vice President of Husky’s Medical business unit. “Becton Dickinson places a strong emphasis on advancing the world of health; we are fortunate to be able to partner with a company like this and contribute to such an important global initiative.”
By consistently delivering innovative solutions on time, as well as providing extensive training to Becton Dickinson employees, Schöttli has been able to maintain a close relationship with Becton Dickinson for nearly fifty years. This relationship ensures that Husky is able to gain a deep understanding of Becton Dickinson’s needs, allowing for an innovative approach to solving key business challenges, such as increased cavitation to reduce part costs, or varying mold construction to improve product quality, maintainability or speed-to-market. Together, Schöttli and Becton Dickinson pioneered the full hot runner mold process, and implemented high cavitation stack molds at Becton Dickinson, significantly reducing waste and long-term capital expense, while increasing productivity and use of floor space. There are currently more than 500 molds with the Schöttli name running across 18 global Becton Dickinson sites, with some molds over 30 years old and still producing quality parts.
Becton Dickinson’s Supplier Recognition Awards honor suppliers for their contributions towards advancing or supporting key Becton Dickinson initiatives, products, processes, and for helping to increase customer satisfaction. Global Procurement associates nominate qualified suppliers, at which point the selection committee votes for the most qualified.
