Digitalisation, process optimisation, productivity and sustainability – these were just some of the topics covered at the HASCO Day 2023 because they represent the challenges for the future of modern mouldmaking.
Around 200 participants accepted the invitation of the Lüdenscheid/Germany based standard mould manufacturer to visit the Rohrmeisterei in Schwerte. The event focused on parameters such as the continuous increase in productivity, the design of intelligent tool and mouldmaking through digital solutions, and the significant increase in quality.
The speakers' presentations, which included experts from HASCO as well as well-known speakers from the industry, showed new ways for modern mouldmaking through digital tools and technologies – solutions that make mouldmaking and plastics processing leaner and more productive, and also make the know-how about tools, processes and components more transparent. In addition, this knowledge helps the mouldmaker to organise project processes, which, in turn, contributes to increasing tool life and predicting maintenance intervals.
In addition to the expert presentations, an accompanying trade exhibition offered all participants ample time and space for networking as well as ideal opportunities to expand contacts within the industry.
Panel discussion: Digitalisation meets standardization
In the afternoon, there was a panel discussion on the topic of "Digitalisation meets standardisation", chaired by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Seul from Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences, with Manuel Witte from ARBURG, Markus Lehr from HACK Formenbau, Klaus Lemke from TriWeFo, and Andrè Brandt and Florian Larisch from HASCO. The discussion dealt with a number of practical trends that showed the audience some of the prospects for the future.
Andrè Brandt is certain: "It is possible to generate or realise additional business through digitalisation." Florian Larisch put it in a nutshell when he said: "We are all already swimming in the river of digitalisation. We can let ourselves drift or pick up speed with a few powerful strokes, but we shouldn't try to hold on to a tree to escape this river." With his practical experience, Markus Lehr encouraged "taking a holistic approach in a company." One thing became clear during the individual presentations: the future of mouldmaking lies in digitalisation.
Customers, exhibitors, speakers and the HASCO team were satisfied with an all-round successful event in the stylish ambience of the Rohrmeisterei. "We are delighted with the many interesting discussions at the highest level and the positive feedback from our guests," said HASCO CEO Christoph Ehrlich.
