With about 321,879 visitors in Shanghai, 85% of whom were domestic trade visitors, the German machine manufacturer BOY experienced an unexpectedly positive trade fair success at Chinaplas 2024. The booth of the manufacturer of injection moulding machines with clamping forces of up to 1,250 kN was very well frequented during the four days of the fair. Mr. Xin Bingbin from the BOY-North-China representation Andeli Co. Ltd. commented: "BOY innovations in the field of injection moulding technologies are constantly expanding and thus lead to the development of new and improved products with enhanced features and applications. The two injection moulding machines at our booth generated a lot of enthusiasm. Made in Germany - is very important in China."

BOY exhibited a BOY XS (100 kN clamping force) and the efficient success model, the BOY 25 E (250 kN), at the joint German booth.
The BOY XS impresses with a maximum performance on a footprint of just 0.77 m². Even with its smallest injection moulding machine, BOY relies on the proven screw plasticising system, which works according to the "first in - first out" principle. With screw diameters between 8 and 18 mm, plasticising volumes of 0.06 up to 15.3 cm³ are possible in permanent industrial operation. The patented BOY micro-plasticising unit with a diameter of 8 mm guarantees shortest dwell times in the machine - a major advantage for a gentle processing of temperature-sensitive materials.
Equipped with a servo drive, the BOY 25 E is outstanding in terms of efficiency, precision and smooth running compared to conventional hydraulic drive systems. Despite a footprint of just 1.8 m², the proven machine type (more than 25,000 units have been built up to now) with its cantilevered two-platen clamping unit also offers sufficient space for large-volume moulds. With four of the seven possible screw diameters, significantly higher injection speeds can be achieved.
Both exhibits were equipped with the multiple-patented Procan ALPHA ® 4 control system. This control system is characterised by precision, dynamics and an easy handling thanks to its multi-touch capability. It enables operating strategies such as scrolling of screen pages or changing pages by wiping - just it is the case with modern means of communication. The 15" full-touch display with brilliant LCD-LED technology impresses with screen pages (which are designed with a minimum of text) in Chinese and memorable symbols. A total of 23 languages are available. The digital assistance function for a machine control in the local language (stored in the control system) was highly appreciated by the visitors to the BOY booth.
