Revolutionary marking technology and impressive visual effects in the new silicone sample plate 3.0! Joint developments from starlim, the world’s largest silicone injection moulder, and the renowned Reichle Technologiezentrum have moved to the next level. Technical know-how in the area of silicone injection moulding gained by starlim over many years aids innovative adaptations in the area of silicone articles. Femto laser technology employed by Reichle enables the integration of holograms, colour effects, textures without depth and particularly high surface qualities in molds.
And the results of bundling this expertise: sample plate 3.0
Innovative marking options
The new silicone sample plate 3.0 offers a few remarkable highlights. With dimensions of 120 x 160 mm and a thickness of 2.7 mm, it is now available in two colours: elegant black and a cool white. One innovative property makes the white variant particular impressive, as it contains a colour changing additive. This additive facilitates the individual marking of silicone components with a laser to create a serial number, product information or decorative elements.
Laser marking black, the laser changing colour employed is, according to ISO 10993-5, harmless when in contact with skin (cytotoxicity) and approved by the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), the FDA and USP Class 6.
Design meets utility
A particular highlight is the integrated lenticular image. Different motives become visible on the same surface when the plate is tilted. In addition, sample plate 3.0 offers numerous 3D structures with hologram surfaces. These innovative features enable the creation of unique hallmarks in silicone components, thus ensuring their authenticity.
Have you ever seen a stereogram?
The changing colour facilitates integration of a fascinating stereogram in sample plate 3.0. When examined carefully, this two-dimensional image exhibits impressive spatial depth. It looks like a grey whirl at first glance, but it reveals its spatial depth under more careful examination. If one holds the stereogram close to the tip of one’s nose and then, while keeping one’s relaxed eyes on the image, moves it slowly away, an image of an O-ring appears.
Highlights of sample plate 3.0
Sample plate 3.0 impresses through a variety of surfaces that are effectively displayed to differing degrees, thanks to the two colours selected.
