PlastiCert, a 35 year veteran of innovative and quality plastic injection molding design and manufacturing services, acquired a new 55 ton press to increase efficiency and better service customers.
PlastiCert has acquired a Milacron MTs55 Injection molding press and has qualified it for use in production. Acquired directly from Milacron, the unit meets PlastiCert’s requirements for reliability, serviceability, and flexibility to meet an array of customer and PlastiCert needs.
Since the 2009 consolidation of our business with the PlastiCert facility in PA, our production profile has changed. That consolidation resulted in our needing two 90-ton presses. With continually changing customer profiles, acquisition of this press allows us to divest ourselves of both a 90-ton and 25-ton press freeing up floor space. We are still able to provide both primary and backup set-up scenarios to assure our customers an uninterrupted supply line. Augmenting its versatility, we ordered it with two different barrel/screw configurations.
“It was part of our capital improvement plan to do this. We wanted to address the recent customer product development work but also, the risk management aspect was a desired outcome of our plan,” remarked President and Owner Craig Porter. “This press will allow us to reliability cover a wide range of shot sizes and keeps our equipment list fresh.”
