A dynamic mechanical analyzer revolutionized

A dynamic mechanical analyzer revolutionized

News 22.02.2025

NETZSCH Analyzing & Testing proudly introduces the DMA 503 Eplexor®, a cutting-edge Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer designed for mid-range force requirements. Following the success of our desktop DMA 303 Eplexor® and the redesigned standalone DMA 523 Eplexor®, we have also modernized our mid-size DMA up to 500 Newton (N) to align with our award-winning design standards. This advancement not only reimagines the instruments’ aesthetic, but also incorporates significant technical enhancements to elevate performance.

NETZSCH DMA503 HT

The DMA 503 Eplexor® series allows for a variety of upgrades – to meet the challenges of tomorrow today

A New Vision and Enhanced Capabilities
The DMA 503 Eplexor®, previously known as the DMA Gabo Eplexor®, is now available in three dynamic force ranges: 100 N, 150 N, and 500 N. These versions maintain the flexibility and robustness required for diverse testing scenarios. The independent static drive enables static loads of up to 1500 N, ensuring that the full shaker capacity remains dedicated to dynamic testing. This feature is crucial for evaluating large or stiff samples effectively.

Precision Testing for Elastomers and Reinforced Materials
Elastomers, with their low glass transition (The glass transition is one of the most important properties of amorphous and semi-crystalline materials, e.g., inorganic glasses, amorphous metals, polymers, pharmaceuticals and food ingredients, etc., and describes the temperature region where the mechanical properties of the materials change from hard and brittle to more soft, deformable or rubbery.) temperatures and amplitude-dependent behavior, present unique challenges demanding advanced measurement technology. The DMA 503 Eplexor® excels in this domain, enabling reliable testing across all deformation modes. Key testing applications include:
• Temperature sweeps under realistic loading conditions.
• Load sweeps to gain deep insights into material behavior in real-world applications.
The device also focuses on reinforced materials, often tested through bending experiments. To ensure the highest reproducibility, NETZSCH incorporates flexible roller bearings, mounted on hardened metal bases with sapphire rollers. This setup accommodates irregular sample shapes while maintaining precision. Additionally, tensile testing is enhanced with interchangeable plate holders to achieve optimal sample grip.

High-Temperature Testing Excellence: The DMA 503 Eplexor® HT
For applications beyond polymers, the high-temperature version of the DMA 503 Eplexor® offers an unmatched temperature range, reaching up to 1500°C. Its silicon carbide sample holders ensure stability and precision at elevated temperatures, making it the ideal solution for high-temperature dynamic testing of ceramics, metals, alloys, glasses or composites.

DMA 503 Eplexor Accessories Sample Holder group

A variety of sample holders in standard geometries (e.g., bending, tension) are available, as well as in dedicated user-defined geometries

Customizable Configurations
The DMA 503 Eplexor® is designed to cater to a variety of testing needs:
• The 100 N system operates without active shaker cooling, reducing noise levels.
• All configurations achieve static forces of 1500 N and allow for static deformation up to 80 mm without a furnace or 45 mm with a furnace.
• Frequency ranges span 0.0001 Hz to 100 Hz, extendable up to 200 Hz for fatigue testing.

Bridging Applications with a Comprehensive Portfolio
The NETZSCH DMA product line ensures that every application is covered:
• The DMA 303 Eplexor®, with forces up to 50 N and temperatures from -170°C to 800°C, is ideal for linear material testing.
• The DMA 503 Eplexor® is the universal solution for dynamic and static testing up to 500N.
• The DMA 523 Eplexor®, with forces up to 4000 N, bridges the gap to destructive material testing while maintaining full DMA functionality.

Experience Proven Excellence
NETZSCH’s DMA portfolio offers tailored solutions for every material testing requirement. Whether you are testing elastomers, reinforced materials, or exploring high-temperature behaviors, the DMA 503 Eplexor® combines innovation with reliability to meet your needs.
