Witnessing the steady development of WITTMANN Group commerce on the Slovakian market, the Group management came with the decision to open a separate business unit in Trenčin. Before, WITTMANN BATTENFELD CZ based in Pisek (Czech Republic) was in charge of the Group’s work in Slovakia. Juraj Majerský, an experienced sales representative from WITTMANN BATTENFELD CZ, will manage the new Slovakian subsidiary jointly with Michal Slaba, the Managing Director of WITTMANN BATTENFELD CZ.
Majerský’s team will be responsible for sales, provide technical support for customers and manage spare parts supplies. Another salesperson plus a service engineer are expected to reinforce the current team of four people in the next year. “Our aim is to strengthen the market position of the WITTMANN and WITTMANN BATTENFELD brands in Slovakia even further and to make the best possible use of the opportunities this market offers,” underlines Juray Majerský.
The opportunities are truly there. Some 250 injection molding enterprises are already present in Slovakia, and the market is expected to grow further. This is mostly due a rapid expansion of the sector of automotive suppliers in the country, explains Majerský. Currently, there are several plants by three car manufacturers in Slovakia: KIA Žilina, PSA Trnava and VW Bratislava, and another production facility by Jaguar Land Rover is under construction in Nitra. Based on this, Majerský’s estimation is stable sales in 2016, and a 10% yearly growth expected for 2017 and 2018.
The Managing Director of WITTMANN Kunststoffgeräte GmbH, Michael Wittmann, commented on the news: “The positive economic development in Slovakia and the increasing demand for injection molding technology in this region call for a more targeted development of this market than was required in the past.” Wittmann is confident that the new subsidiary in Trenčin will warrant ideal support for the Group’s customers in the country.
