At this year's K trade fair in Düsseldorf (8-15 October 2025), BOY will demonstrate how modern injection moulding technology and creative applications can be combined in the smallest of footprint. Visitors will experience an enjoyable live application: The BOY Barista Bar.

At the centre of the eye-catching presentation is the BOY 50 Electric, combined with an integrated LR 5 linear robot, which impresses with a new, parallel ejector movement to the X-axis of the handling system - a novelty that enables even more compact and efficient automation.
Visitors take a seat at a stylishly designed counter and conveniently select their espresso speciality via an integrated touch display. The highlight: On request, your own name can be laser engraved on the cup - a real trade fair highlight with a personal touch.
A collaborating 6-axis robot takes the freshly injection-moulded espresso cup from the handling system, places it under a fully automatic coffee machine and then finishes the drink with a decorative BOY logo made of cocoa powder. The filled cup is then served to the guest directly at the bar.
The cups themselves are made from the high-quality, sustainable material NAS® ECO 30 BC90, coloured with a special laser- capable colour that creates the ideal conditions for precise engraving. The material is provided by our long-standing partner INEOS Styrolution, leading manufacturers of high-performance styrenics. Christian Dietlein, Head of Technical Service, INEOS Styrolution: "We value our longstanding relationship with Dr Boy and encourage our customers to discover the BOY injection moulding machines at the K fair. We invite you to get in touch with us to find out how our high-performance styrenics can help you find innovative, sustainable and future-proof solutions."
The combination of mechanical engineering, robotics, digital technology and coffee culture makes this application a visitor magnet - with guaranteed enjoyment.
Dr. Boy GmbH & Co. KG once again demonstrates with this application how versatile and accessible injection moulding technology can be used in the context of digitalisation, automation and customised production - practical, compact and extremely inviting.
