To provide enhanced services to area molders, ADAMS Engineers and Equipment Inc. has opened a new Technical Training facility in Jacksonville, Texas. With capacity for four fully equipped machine systems, including the latest in machine technology from ENGEL, the Technical Center provides resources to meet the growing needs of plastic processors in the region.

ENGEL’s regional sales representative ADAMS Engineers & Equipment Inc., a full service sales representative for injection, extrusion, recycling, and auxiliary equipment, has moved to a 10,000 square foot facility in Jacksonville, Texas.
Wanting to expand and enhance their current plastic processing and engineering support to area molders, ADAMS Engineers decided to relocate to a larger facility, one that would allow them to provide additional capabilities such as machine evaluations, mold trials, auxiliary testing and training programs. They found the perfect location, and created their Technical Training facility which includes a technology display area large enough to house four fully equipped molding systems, a 24 person training room with full audio visual capabilities, conference facilities, as well as housing their sales and engineering offices.
“ENGEL is very excited about the fabulous new facility ADAMS has developed for area customers,” shares Mark Sankovitch, President of ENGEL North America. “It reinforces the commitment that ADAMS has always had to both their customers and the companies they represent, supporting their growth and technical development.”
New facility opens with a Technology Expo

On September 29th, ADAMS Engineers held a Technology Expo to open their new Technical Training Center, inviting area processors to tour the new facility and hear presentations on the latest technology offerings from suppliers such as ENGEL, Cumberland, Davis Standard, Dynamic Conveyor, Fast Heat, Maguire, NGR, Nordson, Thermal Care and Universal Dynamics. Technical experts were also on hand for one-on-one discussions and equipment review.
Two fully equipped machine systems were in operation during the event:
The first system consisted of an all-electric ENGEL e-mac 310/85 US injection molding machine, with integrated conveyor and guarding, equipped with an ENGEL viper 12 robot.
The system was molding a battery cover, and was also equipped with:
- Thermal Care Aquatherm RQE temperature controller
- Universal Dynamics Vantage Ready 30 dryer with FOCUS touch screen and data logging
A tie-bar-less ENGEL victory 750/180 hy-spex injection molding machine was the base for the second system on display. This system was running a 4 cavity buckle mold, and utilized:
- Thermal Care Aquatherm RQE temperature controller
- Universal Dynamics Vantage Ready 55 dryer with FOCUS touch screen and data logging
- Dynacon Z belt conveyor
Also exhibited, in a standalone equipment display, were:
- Cumberland 1018X beside-the-press granulator
- Maguire WSB-240R blender with new touch screen controls
- VFD controlled Thermal Care portable NQV Accuchiller
With over 100 attendees, company President Cliff Adams was extremely pleased with their inaugural event. “We made the investment in our new facility to provide area molders with services they did not have access to before,” Cliff shared. “I am happy to have such strong interest in our Technical Training Center, and look forward to supporting the molding community with our new capabilities.”
“The Technical Training Center at ADAMS Engineers is an excellent resource for area customers,” states Markus Lettau, ENGEL Director, Sales – West. “The two ENGEL systems that were on display during the Expo will remain in the Tech Center – available for mold and machine testing, as well as customer training programs. If sold they will be replaced with similar machines from the ENGEL Fast Lane program, with a minimum of two machines being kept available.”
ENGEL is also creating a cell which will showcase the latest in ENGEL technologies -- such as iQ weight control, iQ clamp control and a variety of the inject 4.0 technologies -- which will spend some time in the ADAMS Technical Center in the future.
Celebrating 25 years in business
The Technology Expo also provided the opportunity to celebrate the company’s 25 years of supporting the plastics molding industry.
With a degree in Industrial Engineering and a Masters in Business, Cliff Adams decided to take his plastics industry experience -- including 7 years running an injection molding facility – and move in a new direction. So, in 1991, he moved to the sales and support side of the plastics industry and established ADAMS Engineers & Equipment. The company began with two employees, doubled its size within two years, and continued to grow over the years to the current staffing of 8. In 2009, ADAMS joined with ENGEL as regional sales representatives for the Southeastern United States.
The sales engineers at ADAMS Engineers & Equipment have extensive experience in the plastics industry, with backgrounds in areas including injection molding, extrusion processing, plant management, material handling and process cooling system design, downstream extrusion equipment design and tooling/part sourcing. Though the staff average is over 30 years experience each, the newest additions are millennials, bringing a different perspective and new skill set. This wide range of experience allows the team to support its customers in all aspects of their business.
“The partnership between ADAMS Engineers and ENGEL has been a very successful one,” continues Sankovitch. “They are a strong, experienced and knowledgeable team that works in conjunction with the internal ENGEL staff to provide the highest level of service and support to customers in the South. We look forward to the continued growth of this winning partnership in the future.”
