EUROMAP has published its new Industry 4.0-ready standard for data exchange between injection moulding machines and central computer and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
The new EUROMAP 77 has been developed by experts from Arburg, Engel, Ferromatik Milacron, Netstal, Negri Bossi, KraussMaffei, Sumitomo (SHI) Demag and Wittmann Battenfeld with support of the OPC Foundation and ascolab and major MES manufacturers.
OPS Unified Architecture (OPC UA) is the interoperability standard for the secure and reliable exchange of data in the field of industrial automation in a number of industries. The OPS Foundation - a non-profit industry association - is responsible for its development. Being platform independent and ensuring the seamless flow of information among multi-vendor devices, the system serves as a good basis for EUROMAP 77.
The specification is now published as Release Candidate at www.euromap.org/euromap77.
