Groundbreaking for new HEKUMA headquarters

News 28.12.2016
Spatenstich HEKUMA 112016

The foundation stone has been laid in Hallbergmoos, which is situated near Munich Airport, on November 28 jointly by the company representatives, the local mayor and Goldbeck, the general contractor for the construction. The brand new headquarters for HEKUMA will raise in the industrial park on the Dornierstrasse.

The construction activities have already started, and the new site is expected for commissioning by the end of 2017. HEKUMA is thus planning to relocate the development and production of their acclaimed high-performance robotics systems for plastic processing to the new site. Bernhard Rupke, CEO of HEKUMA confirms, “This is an important step forward for our future. With more floor space for the assembly of machines, office space streamlined with our manufacturing processes and our three existing production sites in Germany consolidated, we will strengthen our competitiveness and support plans for future corporate growth.”

The local mayor Harald Reents is glad to remark, “We are looking forward to welcome such an innovative company in our community.” Among the advantages of Hallbergmoos, the most obvious one is its close proximity to the current production site of HEKUMA in Eching. Only 10 km away, the new plant will change commuting habits if only slightly. Means of public transportation make reaching the headquarters simple for customers and staff alike. Moreover, the new premises are conveniently close to the Munich airport and the national Autobahn A92, for easier logistics.

The new corporate site will gather all the departments of HEKUMA beneath the same roof. Overall, the floor space of the new headquarters will reach 16 thousand m2. The building under construction has been totally designed with workflow in mind. Thus, the lineup of the departments will enable maximum efficiency in process flows and communication. The new layout of assembly areas is based on various pre-assembly and final assembly operations, as well as on specific markets such as Automotive, Medical, or Consumer Goods.

The site under construction will as well include a new customer support center with facilities for training, offices for site visitors, and a technical application center. The latter will boast a showroom for presentations of HEKUMA systems to customers and corporate events aimed at reinforcing customer communication.
