The all-electric Allrounder Golden Electric entry-level IMMs exist in four sizes within the 600…2,000 kN range. Arburg will highlight an Allrounder 470 E Golden Electric this March in South Korea. |
Koplas trade fair of South Korean plastics industry is organized every other year with the number of exhibitors growing steadily. Over 450 companies from 26 countries of the world will be brought together at the Kintex exhibition center in Goyang (Seoul region) in the beginning of March 2017. This time, Arburg will host its first-ever dedicated booth (P530 in Hall 5) at Koplas. Two machines were chosen to illustrate how large-scale production of quality parts by injection molding can be cost-effective thanks to all-electric and hybrid technologies developed by Arburg.
First, a 1,000 kN Allrounder 470 E Golden Electric fitted with an injection unit of size 290 for the manufacture of stacking boxes will emphasize the advantages of the new all-electric entry-level series. Another exhibit, an Allrounder 370 H, will represent the performant hybrid Hidrive series as its smallest member. The 600 kN machine is equipped with a size 170 injection unit for the production of a popular toy buggy in an Arburg 1+1+2-cavity family mold. The sprue is taken out by an Integralpicker V robot.
Allrounder Golden Electric: Discover the all-electric
The all-electric Allrounder Golden Electric injection molding machines have been developed with precision, complex parts and power efficiency in mind. This new series follows the global market demands for electric IMM technology in a convenient size range, boasting a beneficial combination of power saving, high precision and reproducibility for a reasonable price.
The new machine series comprises highly standardized units adding value to standard processing of thermoplastics. An example is standard combination of injection unit size, in-between tie-bar opening, and clamping force. As for the latter, the Allrounder Golden Electric machines cover the range of 600 to 2,000 kN.
High-duty technologies
The Allrounder 370 H will be displayed at Koplas as the tiniest member of high-performance Hidrive series of hybrid injection molding machines. |
Arburg delivers high performance and short cycle times related to it thanks to the double five-point toggle system and fine-line, play-free spindle drives. The adjustable screw makes it possible to fill mold cavities with a due repeatability, resulting in high quality of molded items. Motors with liquid cooling and servo inverters enhance the overall power efficiency, reduce dry run times considerably and increase the reproducibility level additionally. Highly efficient servomotors, nonstop power adaptation and braking energy recovery make the machine save up to 55% of power compared to standard hydraulic IMMs. Allrounder machine maintenance is made easy by plug-in cylinders, swiveling injection units, as well as by cooling and lubrication improvements.
Hidrive: a hydraulic/electric hybrid
The Allrounder machines of the Hidrive series are hybrid with the aim of prioritizing high production performance in injection molding of thermoplastics. Servo-electric clamping unit toggle and electric injection dosing combined with a hydraulic accumulator guarantee precise and dynamic processing and increased performance. In-parallel movements of machine units cut cycle times and deliver a considerably higher cost-efficiency to production. Remarkable technical details reduce set-up and dry cycle times extremely and keep the synchronous ejection of molded items particularly accurate and reproducible. Compared to traditional hydraulic equipment, one attains power savings of up to 40%.
The injection flow dynamics of the hybrid machine is improved thanks mainly to the hydraulic accumulator technology. Finally, broad options provided by Selogica control system for parallel production processes make it possible for the operator to program high-speed processing sequences with the use of automated system components.
