LyondellBasell introduces new Purell resin for injection molded and cast film healthcare applications
LyondellBasell introduced Purell RP320M, a new polypropylene (PP) random copolymer that can be used in caps and closures, labware, flexible and rigid packaging of medical devices and pharmaceuticals. Purell RP320M offers good clarity and excellent homogeneity to meet high quality requirements in cast film extrusion conversion and injection molding technologies.
Good optical, physical and mechanical balance of properties
Purell RP320M exhibits low gels content, which contributes to end applications that require superior optical properties such as gloss, transparency, surface smoothness, planarity and good tear resistance. Additionally, it can achieve excellent sealing properties in film structures and its rheology behavior also offers good processability for injection molded applications. It does not contain slip or anti-blocking additives and is manufactured using a non-phthalate based catalytic system.
This new PP grade is backed by LyondellBasell’s Purell Service Concept for healthcare applications, which offers consistency of formulation, continuity of supply, single sourcing and compliance to regulatory requirements.
“The Purell Service Concept bases on the specific and unique requirements of the healthcare industry that demands continuous innovation, higher reliability and dedicated technical support”, said Rodney Fox, marketing manager of LyondellBasell’s European PP Healthcare and Caps and Closures business. “The new Purell RP320M offers a physical, mechanical and optical balance of properties that strengthens LyondellBasell’s leading portfolio of resins used in pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical devices, laboratory and diagnostics applications”.
