Effective immediately, T.I.G. is now the sole provider of MES solutions within the ENGEL group of companies. The injection moulding machine manufacturer ENGEL will no longer continue to operate its own MES e factory, but will rely more heavily on the authentig software suite from T.I.G. to provide an independent, neutral interface solution.
With the integration of T.I.G. into the ENGEL Group in October 2016, both companies have bundled their MES know-how and many years of experience with global MES projects. “Together, we have a deeper understanding of the networking of injection moulding processes than other providers in the market”, notes Wolfgang Frohner, Managing Director of T.I.G. “As a strategic investor, ENGEL is making it possible to further expand the Rankweil site, create new highly qualified jobs and thereby increase our speed of innovation.”

Authentig to remain independent
T.I.G. and ENGEL have already been working in the field of manufacturing execution systems for many years. From the very beginning, the ENGEL e-factory solution has been based on the authentig software from T.I.G. For e-factory users this means that only the product name will change, while the functionality and operating logic remain the same as before. The contacts at the Sales and Customer Service departments at ENGEL’s main plant and at the ENGEL branches will also not change. All of the previous e-factory and authentig modules will continue to work under the authentig MES. From the wide range of available modules, T.I.G. develops corresponding solutions that are precisely tailored to customers’ individual requirements
“Since the K 2016 trade fair we have been able to clinch several major projects”, says Frohner. “ENGEL as an investor in the background provides stability and a long-term outlook. This gives an additional boost to the level of trust that processing companies place in us”. With already over 8,000 networked injection moulding machines, T.I.G. is endeavouring to become the market leader as a MES provider for the plastic processing industry. Seven of the ten world’s largest automotive component suppliers are T.I.G. customers.
Under the umbrella of the ENGEL Group, T.I.G. remains an independent company and will continue to market authentig as an independent, neutral interface MES. This means that plastic processing companies that do not use ENGEL injection moulding machines will also benefit from the deep level of industry-specific knowledge offered by the authentig MES solution
T.I.G. at Chinaplas 2017
At Chinaplas T.I.G. will be exhibiting at ENGEL’s exhibition stand. In its own ‘expert corner’ the company will display its authentig MES solution and clearly demonstrate the opportunities that networking injection moulding machines and processes opens up for processing companies. T.I.G. will be presenting the new “Energy” module for the first time in Asia. “Energy” renders the energy consumption of the individual injection moulding company customers transparent and is furthermore able to distribute specified quantities of electricity as needed. This makes it possible to reliably prevent cost-intensive spikes in power delivery.
