At MSV, to be held in Brno from 1 to 5 October 2018, ARBURG will be showing two highlights in plastics processing. The multi-component injection moulding of a hard/soft combination and the additive manufacturing of one-off functional parts with complex geometries will be demonstrated live on ARBURG stand.
Expertise in efficient plastic processing
"With our multi-component injection moulding and ARBURG plastic freeforming applications, we will demonstrate our expertise in efficient plastic processing – from high-volume production to one-off parts. We see great potential, particularly for such high-quality, production-efficient injection moulding machines and for industrial additive manufacturing in our market," says Dr Daniel Orel, Managing Director of ARBURG spol. s r.o. in the Czech Republic.
Multi-component injection moulding: Components in a hard/soft combination
ARBURG's pioneering position in the injection moulding of several components will be demonstrated at the trade fair using the example of an "ice scraper". The hard/soft combination of ABS and TPE is produced in a 1 + 1-cavity mould from Polarform, on a hydraulic ALLROUNDER 570 S with a clamping force of 2,200 kN and two injection units of sizes 400 (horizontal) and 170 (vertical). A completely ready-to-use finished part with a flexible squeegee lip is produced in a cycle time of just 40 seconds.
Additive manufacturing: Functional parts with complex geometry
ARBURG demonstrates the efficiency of the freeformer with the additive manufacture of a conveyor screw, which is used in feed dispensers for pets. The complex geometries of the functional part made from PA10 are produced with the aid of an alkaline-soluble support material (armat 21).
