At Swiss Plastics Expo that took place from 21 to 23 January in Lucerne, Switzerland, ARBURG presented "arburgXworld" as well as an IT networked turnkey system for flexible and efficient injection moulding production.
“arburgXworld”: digital products and services
"Digitalisation and automation are essential factors for our customers in order to maintain and improve their production efficiency, innovative strength and competitive edge," explains Marcel Spadini, Managing Director of ARBURG AG in Switzerland. "With our 'arburgXworld' programme and customer portal of the same name, we can offer considerable added value – from support for machine configuration to digital services and online ordering of our new ALLROUNDER 270 S compact. Using a tension strap application as an example, we will also demonstrate how the demand for more individuality and flexibility in high-volume production can be satisfied economically.”
Customer portal includes many valuable apps
The basic version of the ARBURG customer portal includes the four free "Machine Center", "Service Center", "Shop" and "Calendar” apps. “arburgXworld" has been available internationally in 18 languages since October 2019 and features new functions and fee-based apps that offer users considerable added value and will be presented live at the trade fair. This includes apps such as "Machine Finder" for finding the most suitable ALLROUNDER, "Virtual Control" for simulating the machine control system and "Self Service" for guided fault analysis and troubleshooting. Using the "Configuration" app, customers can for the first time configure a new machine, the ALLROUNDER 270 S compact, by themselves and order it online.
Flexible turnkey system: tension straps "on demand"
As a "smart" exhibit, ARBURG will be showcasing a compact turnkey system built around a vertical ALLROUNDER 375 V, which allows customer requirements to be integrated into the running injection moulding process online. The system produces various versions of tension straps "on demand" on a flexible shot-to-shot basis – with no need for conversions, thanks to a clever product and mould design and Industry 4.0 components. At Swiss Plastics Expo, visitors can choose between straps of different lengths, colours and end piece combinations and can enter the variant of their choice directly at the terminal. The order is transferred to the central SELOGICA control system via the OPC UA communication protocol.
