ARBURG will present an overview of its extensive portfolio for additive manufacturing at TCT Asia 2020 in Shanghai, China, from 8 to 10 July. The highlight at its stand is the Asian premiere of the freeformer 300-3X.
Asian debut: freeformer 300-3X
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, trade fair visitors will be looked after solely by contact people from ARBURG's Chinese subsidiary. “We are here and we are pleased that the trade fair can go ahead with the appropriate security measures,” commented Zhao Tong, Managing Director of the ARBURG organisations in China. “There is great interest in additive manufacturing and our unique ARBURG Plastic Freeforming process. We will be presenting a freeformer 300-3X for the first time in Asia and are now cooperating with trading partners on the distribution of our freeformers in China.” There will be two size 200-3X and 300-3X freeformers on display as well as a representative cross-section of sample components. The highlight, the large freeformer 300-3X, will process three components live, thereby enabling the industrial additive manufacturing of complex functional parts in resilient hard/soft combinations with support structure.
Unique APF process
The APF process offers an interesting complementary production technology for the manufacture of functional plastic parts. The freeformer offers distinct advantages for the production of resilient components in hard/soft combinations, for products made of soft materials and especially for medical technology because it can process FDA-approved original materials. During the coronavirus situation, the freeformer has proven its worth in the rapid additive production of prototypes and small batches of products that protect against infection, while bridging the gap until a mould can be produced for high-volume injection moulding. At TCT Asia 2020, ARBURG will use selected sample parts to demonstrate the wide range of applications made possible by freeformers.
