At Plastec West 2022 in Anaheim/CA (USA), ARBURG will focus on LSR injection moulding and digitalisation. An automated turnkey system will demonstrate the production of foldable drinking cups made of LSR. The ARBURG customer portal and host computer system will also be presented to the visitors.
Turnkey solution for LSR processing
At Plastec West, an electric ALLROUNDER 470 A, integrated in a fully automated production cell, produces a foldable drinking cup. LSR is used for this because the material is characterised by a high level of stability and the cup can therefore be folded. The cup weighs 84 g, the cycle time is 45 s. For processing LSR, the machine is equipped as standard with the aXw Control ScrewPilot for high-precision injection and also with the aXw Control PressurePilot. This bionically optimised pressure regulation enlarges the process window for a robust and reproducible injection moulding process.
arburgXworld and ALS
The ARBURG host computer system (ALS) and the ARBURG Remote Service can be seen live at the trade fair stand.
With the ALS, production data can be recorded and analysed in real time – thus significantly increasing the efficiency and transparency of production. Visitors will also be able to find out more about the "arburgXworld" customer portal, which creates added value along the entire value chain and thus makes everyday injection moulding work easier.
Great potential for additive manufacturing
At Design & Manufacturing West, which is taking place at the same time, ARBURG will be demonstrating the potential of the freeformer for additive manufacturing at its stand 3708. Using a freeformer 300-3X, the experts will explain the possibilities of ARBURG Plastic Freeforming (APF) to trade fair visitors. This is known as an "open system" thanks to the processing of original plastic granules and the resulting freedom in terms of materials. In addition, users can optimise the process control themselves. The freeformer is ideal for applications such as medical technology and the processing of soft materials, including hard/soft combinations.
