Wittmann Battenfeld adds cleanroom demonstration facility to American HQ
Plastics processing and auxiliary equipment maker Wittmann Battenfeld Inc. has added a new demonstration cleanroom at its U.S. headquarters in Torrington, Conn.
The 672-square-foot room, which will be in operation by October 1, will house two Wittmann Battenfeld molding machines, an all-electric EcoPower SE 110/350 (special cleanroom edition), and a MicroPower 15/10 micromolding machine. Other Wittmann equipment including a W821 robot will also be used.
“This new room will be used as a demonstration facility to show our medical customers molding applications, and possibilities with our electric and micro-molding machines,” said Markus Klaus, the company’s injection molding machine division manager. The new room will be shown in operation for the first time at the company’s upcoming Innovations Workshop and Open House, being held October 5-6 in Torrington, he added.
“We are excited to show customers our new clean room demonstration facility in operation,” said David Preusse, president of Wittmann Battenfeld. “Our involvement in medical molding applications is increasing, and the addition of this new facility shows our continued commitment to the market.”
Christian Glueck, Wittmann Battenfeld’s technical centre manager and trainer, will lead molding operations for the new clean room demonstration facility.
