Fast access to the world of ENGEL: At K 2016, ENGEL will present the new look and feel of its customer portal e-connect and a number of added functions.

Any producer wanting a quick access to the ENGEL’s universe can easily do that at the new e-connect customer portal. The Austria’s system provider and injection molding specialist has totally updated and rethought its online platform in order to embrace the new digital challenges of its inject 4.0 program. At the forthcoming K Show ENGEL will share the new functionality and the renewed design of the portal.

Do you share the desire to be at the forefront, and constantly so? The new customer support platform will give you a hint how to achieve it. The e-connect portal quickens pending deliveries considerably and makes administration easy. An example would be spare parts’ availability/price checks online.

Furthermore, every single ENGEL machine or manufacturing cell is part of the system: its current state may be visualized at any moment. Portal users have the possibility to manage their equipment online in the exact way they do that in their shops, e.g. assign machines to certain departments of halls.

The new smart service called e-connect.monitor makes an integral part of the portal. Thanks to this solution, the status of critical production equipment components is constantly available online. This extends the service life of the said components and keeps production lines from unplanned downtimes. Dedicated sensors monitor every critical component, and its remaining lifetime is calculated following ENGEL’s mathematical models. This approach is known as condition-based predictive maintenance, and ENGEL deserves credit for making it purely automatic.

At K 2016, the company will put on display two modules of the new maintenance solution. The first one is for screws, the state of which is evaluated during regular noninterruptive maintenance; the second module monitors the spindles continuously. For either module, the e-connect platform stores analyses and results for further processing by customers.

Being part of the inject 4.0 program, e-connect.monitor emphasizes once again the commitment of ENGEL to assisting their customers who are facing the ongoing fourth industrial revolution. Development of new smart factory products and services is a priority for ENGEL, and the updated, ideally armed e-connect platform stands proudly among them.

Need to replace a component or perform any other servicing operation? Now you can send a request to ENGEL directly from e-connect. The convenience is reciprocal since this approach cuts the delays in processing of orders by ENGEL. A placed request is immediately sent to the corresponding service team that starts working on it straight away. Actually, both customers and service technicians use the exact same database, avoiding miscommunication altogether. Moreover, technicians always have access to machine or system history, which enables them working faster. Service orders are also completely documented in e-connect.

The new ENGEL customer portal boasts not only new functionality but also an even more intuitive navigation and a greater transparency. A 24/7 access to important information including dedicated ENGEL contacts, product descriptions and corporate news is a must today. Online calendar displays scheduled onsite maintenance, visits of sales team, seminar bookings, etc. Finally yet importantly, e-learning platform by ENGEL keeps apace with e-connect and is conveniently accessible therefrom.
