The newly developed EcoPower Xpress 400/1100+ by WITTMANN BATTENFELD couples the all-electric concept with fast operation. This model mostly targets producers of thin-walled items and packaging. Quick movements and extremely precise control of the EcoPower Xpress are made possible by highly dynamic axes and clamping unit. Servo drives keep energy consumption reduced, resulting in a higher efficiency. WITTMANN is positive that optimized power use of the machine together with its high productivity are critical for process sustainability.
The 400/1100+ machine model expected at K 2016 is the first prototype for the full EcoPower Xpress series, ready for dispatch starting from the third quarter of 2017. The offered clamping forces (2100 to 5000 kN) will undoubtedly cover many needs.
The EcoPower Xpress 400/1100+ exhibited in Düsseldorf will demonstrate the production of PP lids by injection molding in an eight-cavity mold by Greiner Packaging (Austria) with an in-mold labeling system, WITTMANN W837. Side-entry robot of the system takes care of everything: it places IML foils in the mold, removes finished lids with labels, shows them to a quality inspection camera, and, finally, separates rejects. The overall cycle time is quite impressive: 4.7 s only. The IML system by WITTMANN is very compact and designed for quick foil change.
