A panel of industry experts and media professionals recognized Syensqo’s patented Tecnoflon® FKM NFS for its outstanding performance in a Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve O-ring developed with Freudenberg Sealing Technologies and implemented on some of the most recent General Motors vehicles.
This component features Syensqo’s breakthrough polymerization process1, which enables the production of Tecnoflon® peroxide-curable fluoroelastomers (FKM) without fluorosurfactants (NFS), while maintaining uncompromised performance. Tecnoflon® FKM NFS is now also certified for circular content, further demonstrating Syensqo’s ability to combine advanced material performance with progress toward circularity.

Engine sealing applications represent one of the most demanding environments in automotive design. They require materials that can withstand continuous exposure to heat, pressure, and aggressive fluids while maintaining elasticity and integrity.
Tecnoflon® FKM NFS plays a crucial role in these systems where reliability and safety are non-negotiable. Its superior chemical and thermal resistance ensures consistent, long-term sealing performance, helping carmakers maintain engine efficiency, emissions control, and durability under the toughest operating conditions.
1 Syensqo’s breakthrough polymerization process does not require the use of fluorosurfactant process aids from the PFAS family of compounds.
