ARBURG presents cost-effective automation at Swiss Plastics 2017

News 19.01.2017

In less than a week, visitors of Swiss Plastics 2017 in Lucerne will witness ARBURG presenting cost-effective solutions for automated production. The booth C1061 (hall 1) will have installed an ALLROUNDER machine from the new entry-level GOLDEN ELECTRIC series. The IMM will manufacture connectors for electrical installations.

New electric injection molding machine series

ARBURG introduced the GOLDEN ELECTRIC series to the market last spring in order to make a cost-effective entry into all-electric injection molding easier. Marcel Spadini, Managing Director of ARBURG Switzerland, commented on the occasion: “Our customers in Switzerland are increasingly turning to electric injection molding technology. Like their successful GOLDEN EDITION hydraulic counterparts, the new electric machines offer an excellent price/performance ratio thanks to consistent standardization, e.g. a fixed combination of distance between tie-bars, clamping force and injection unit size.” These IMMs are available in four machine sizes with a clamping force range of 600 to 2,000 kN.”

Electrical connectors to illustrate the new solution

At the ARBURG booth at Swiss Plastics 2017, a 1,000 kN ALLROUNDER 470 E GOLDEN ELECTRIC machine will aim to demonstrate the production of technical items for electrical industry. A cycle of about 18 s only allows for injection molding of sixteen connectors for Skintop® screw fittings, intended for centering, fastening, sealing and strain relief of cables. A MULTILIFT SELECT linear robotic system is charged with handling operations.
