Milacron Holdings Corp., a leading industrial technology company serving the plastics processing industry, attended Plastimagen 2017, in Mexico City, Mexico. The Plastimagen show ran from November 7-10th at the Centro Citibanamex. Milacron was displaying their industry leading injection molding machines, Mold-Masters hot runners and control systems as well as the vast DME catalog of mold components and industrial supplies. Uniloy and Milacron Extrusion experts were on hand to service customers.
Milacron’s Long-Standing Commitment to Latin America
Milacron’s Latin American headquarters are located in Querétaro, Mexico, 140 miles northwest of Mexico City. The Milacron facility, opened in 2014, measures in at 32,300-square-foot and is the heart of Milacron’s Latin American operations.

It houses Milacron’s Latin American injection, extrusion and blow molding sales, aftermarket parts and service business as well as DME’s mold component and industrial supplies operations. Recently, at the start of 2017, Mold-Masters Latin American hot runner and control systems business also became fully integrated into Milacron’s Mexico based team, conducting sales directly to customers. This addition creates a full-service Milacron portfolio site. The facility employs 45, including 25 service engineers. It stocks approximately $4 million in spare parts to ensure prompt service to those in the region. In recent years, Milacron has also focused on sales and support of extrusion and blow molding machinery and have seen impressive results.

Milacron Roboshot 330 with Mold-Masters E-Multi Secondary Injection Unit
Milacron is expanding the already vast capability of the Roboshot Series by adding the Mold-Masters E-Multi secondary injection unit. The integrated all-electric design (of both products) provides clean, precise and repeatable molding for any application. Multi-component molding is a sophisticated discipline that is increasingly in demand. Using different materials (and/or dyes) in one product can improve the design and durability while being cost effective and eliminating downstream assembly equipment. This multi-component option is available as a standard option or as an aftermarket retrofit.

Mold-Masters NEW M-Ax Six Servo Axis Controller
The new Mold-Masters M-Ax servo axis controller is Milacron’s most technologically advanced controller to date. The M-Ax controller has the same powerhouse TempMaster Adaptive Process System (APS) used to control temperature in our entire temperature control line up but also contains an unmatched ability to control motion functions as well. Servo Control functions include valve stems, core pulls, coining plates, index plates, stripper plates, ejector plates as well as driving Mold-Masters technologies like E-Drive syncro plates and Single Electric Valve Gates (SeVG).
Mold-Masters Fusion Series G2 Hot Runner Rev’s up Automotive Molding Operations

Milacron’s Mold-Masters product brand has developed new enhanced features in the Fusion Series G2 for automotive and large-part molding. An extended nozzle length range provides more flexibility while the compound nozzle can be used to avoid interferences with cavity cooling lines and position nozzles in very tight pockets. Fusion G2 is now available with valve pin open speed control and position monitoring that enables improved surface finishes at the gate of the part. Options for extra-extended gate seals are now also available on the entire Fusion G2 product line. Brand new additions to the Fusion G2 product line that were on display include high-performance water-cooled gate inserts plus some additional new gating methods designed specifically for certain resins.
NEW Mold-Masters Dura Plus Automotive Lens and Lighting Hot Runner
Mold-Masters NEW Dura Plus hot runner for lighting applications utilizes features in the Master-Series and Dura product range. The developments focus on part quality and flexibility for customers. The new smarter angled manifold designs make installations easier and reduce the cost on mold machining. New gating styles and new valve pins with superior flow profile allow for perfect gate quality and the new heater path at main manifolds offer less zones to control without jeopardizing the thermal balancing. The new valve pin position sensors fine tune the injection process and dual thermocouples on nozzles to avoid production fails and the proven Fusion G2 actuators that bring repeatability on gate closing, cooling water jackets.

This technology also allows for conformal venting solutions for those hard to reach areas of trapped gases, when requested by the molder.
